About Tic-Tac-Toe

Tic-Tac-Toe is the classic strategy game of X's and O's. Take turns placing your mark on a 3×3 grid and try to line up three in a row — across, down, or diagonally — before your opponent does. Play against a smart computer with three difficulty levels, or share the screen and challenge a friend. Quick, clever, and perfect for building early strategy skills.

Tic-Tac-Toe is one of our free board & strategy games for kids — play it right here in your browser, or browse all our free online games.

How to Play

  • You are X. Click any empty square to place your mark.
  • The computer (or a friend) plays O and takes the next turn.
  • Line up three of your marks in a row to win.
  • If the whole grid fills with no winner, it's a draw.

Tips & Tricks

  • Taking the center square is a strong first move.
  • Watch for two-in-a-row threats and block them.
  • Try to create two threats at once so your opponent can't block both.
